Phil's Solaris Page
Welcome to my Solaris page. This is where I will post information about Solaris problems and experiences I've run into and how I fixed them.
I've been meaning to put this up for a while, but my recent run-in with MySQL being broken for Solaris I've posted stuff on that, and that forced me to start posting stuff.
MY STUFF:
GOOD WEB REFERENCES:
- Solaris 2 FAQ
THE Solaris FAQ
- Bolthole.com's Solaris pages
Excellent Solaris information by a very talented Solaris expert I've had the privilege to work with. The only down side is some of the most helpful things are scripts to set things for you automatically instead of describing how to do it, but hey, you can always look at the source!
- Solaris Resources at Kempston
Some VERY helpful tutorials that don't just tell you what to do, but WHY.
- Solaris on Intel FAQ
A very good reference for Solaris x86
- Docs.Sun.Com
All the Solaris documentation you could ever want... the answer is probably there, but you're going to have to dig.
- Access1.Sun.Com
Various technotes and information about Solaris
- Playground.Sun.Com
Where the guys from Sun spend their free time ;)
- IP Filter
A fully stateful firewall for Solaris (and BSD, and...) that supports filtering and NAT.
- Unix Users Association of Southern California
A really bright group of people with two local chapters. Free. Great, and informative meetings. Very fun people. Great information.
- Phase One
An interesting repository of stuff including a Super Nintendo Emulator for Solaris x86!!
- Solaris on Intel Mailing List
Lots of really knowledgeable Solaris people. Weeds out the junk from alt.solars.x86
- Happy Hacker
Happy Hacker is a great place for anyone from a beginner to uberhacker. Join the Happy Hacker Unix Mailing List.
