On Wednesday, I woke up to snow (technically the second of the season, but I was in the US for the first)! Now, I've seen snow. I've played in snow. I've gone skiing and snowboarding. But I've never lived anywhere where it snowed. Waking up to snow is awesome! It wasn't a ton of snow, but it was enough to cover grass and some trees and roofs and such. It was enough to look really pretty.
Then at work on Wednesday it started actually snowing! I ran outside to play in the snow for a bit.
Thursday morning I woke up to even more snow!
Friday it didn't snow, and over the weekend it warmed up a bit and eventually all the snow melted.
But the following Wednesday I once again woke up to snow. But this time it was a lot of snow. And it was snowing quite hard! There were several inches on the ground!
I headed out (on my bicycle no less) to work, taking a few more pictures along the way.
At work I took a picture out the window next to my desk as well as from the terrace.
Isn't the view out the window (first three pictures) amazing? I get to look at that all day! Around lunch time, Suman and I got together to build a snow man! About half way through were joined by another guy, whose name I don't know, but who had more experience with snowmen then we did.
Two other snowmen were built, but ours was definitely the best. Of course, it was my second snowman and Suman's first, so it took us quite a while to get it right. Everyone else threw theirs together in just a few minutes. Ours was a good 40 minute project.
You may be wondering about the French flag given I'm in Switzerland. Our directory was recently promoted, and he's French. So the whole office was recently covered in French stuff, including lots of flags. We wanted to give him a Swiss flag to hold, but French was all we had.
Upon returning home, I couldn't resist making a snow angel! It was very difficult to get a good picture of it though. Out of the many I took, the following 4 were the only decent shots.
I love snow! I love Zurich! Happy Holidays, folks.
